Tania K. Harvey has exclusively practiced in the matrimonial and family law field for nearly 16 years, which experience includes court appointments as a child representative, guardian ad litem and attorney for a child since 2010, along with earning her certificate in mediation from Northwestern University in 2015.
Ms. Harvey has been a collaborative law fellow with the Collaborative Law Insititute of Illinois since 2015. She has written numerous appellate briefs, argued before the Appellate Court and also appealed to the Illinois Supreme Court.
Ms. Harvey earned her Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law School in June, 2003. Ms. Harvey earned her Bachelor of Science in Business from Miami University of Ohio in June 2000, with a minor in criminology. While a student a Miami University, Ms. Harvey underwent the forty (40) hour mediation training with Conflict Resolution Services and Violence Prevention Program located at Hamilton Municipal Court to become a certified mediator for the court system.
Ms. Harvey is very active with the University of Illinois Chicago John Marshall Law School Alumni Association and has been an adjunct faculty member, since 2008. Ms. Harvey is a member of the Illinois, Chicago Bar Association of Illinois, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and DuPage County Bar Association; she also actively attends events for the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. Ms. Harvey was the Co-chair of the Young Lawyer’s Section of Family Law of the Chicago Bar Association for two years and served as a Special Projects Coordinator for the Chicago Bar Association.
Ms. Harvey has also been selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2012-2018 and was included on the Emerging Lawyers list for Leading and Emerging Chicago Area Divorce Lawyers for 2016-2018. Ms. Harvey was recommended by her legal peers and approved by the Leading Lawyers Advisory Board as a Leading Lawyer for 2018-present. The distinction of being a Leading Lawyer has been earned by fewer than 5% of all lawyers licensed to practice law in Illinois.
